GO Award winners!

The County Durham Pound project has been acclaimed nationally receiving the Best Collaborative Procurement Award at an awards ceremony in Liverpool.

On 16 May the UK National GO Awards took place, with scenes of celebration and joy as the UK’s best public procurement achievements were recognised.

The County Durham Pound also received Highly Commended in the category for the Social Value Award.

Hosting the big night and delivering the welcome address was BBC broadcaster and GO Awards regular, Holly Hamilton, who summed up their importance at a time of significant change:

“Since 2002, the GO Awards have recognised achievement and success across public procurement – both for organisations and individuals, and across the public, private and voluntary sectors. The Awards have helped to showcase outstanding people and celebrate best practice.

Richard Carroll, Chief Procurement Officer of Durham County Council and project sponsor said:

“We are thrilled to be recognised in two categories at these prestigious awards. There was a huge amount of competition and this is an acknowledgement of all the County Durham Pound partners’ contributions to the project.”
